How to Spot a Fake Supreme T-Shirt: 7 Checks Before You Buy
Fake Supreme tees are everywhere on Vinted, eBay and Depop, and some are good enough to fool a quick look. We check second-hand Supreme every week for our shop, and these are the seven checks that catch most fakes before you pay.
No single check proves a tee is real. Use them together, and if one fails, ask the seller for more photos or walk away.
1. The neck tag lettering
Start with the red box logo on the neck tag. On a real tee the white "Supreme" lettering is sharp, evenly spaced and well proportioned inside the box. On fakes it is often thin, stretched, crowded or slightly off-centre.
Look at the small ® symbol too. It should be small and sit clear of the edge of its circle. An oversized or blobby ® is a common giveaway.

2. The neck tag stitching
A real neck tag is stitched down with a single, neat line of stitching along each edge. Double or triple rows, wonky lines or loose threads around the tag are warning signs.
3. "Made In U.S.A." and the small print
Most Supreme tees we see are made in the USA, and the tag text should be clean and centred. Look closely at "Made In U.S.A.": real tags have a full stop after each letter, including after the final A. A missing full stop is a red flag. The "PRE-SHRUNK" text should also look clean, not chunky or boxy.
Under bright light, the back of a real neck tag shows a faint, white, all-caps "SUPREME" watermark. On fakes it is often missing, yellowish, italic or not in capitals.
4. The wash tag
Ask for a photo of the wash tag inside the side seam. On real tags the print is even and the grey "SUPREME" is bold and solid. Fakes often have thin, washed-out text, odd letter shapes, or spelling mistakes in the care instructions, such as "TUBMLE" instead of "TUMBLE". The RN number should read RN#101837 in slim, clean print.
5. The print
A real Supreme print sits flat against the fabric, with crisp edges and tight, even spacing between letters. Fakes often have gaps that are too wide, letters that are too thin, or a raised, rubbery feel. Compare the graphic with photos of the original release from a trusted source, and check the colours match.
For collaboration tees, the back of the neck tag should carry the partner's copyright line. Fakes often leave it off.
6. The collar and inside seams
Turn the tee inside out if you can, or ask for a photo. A real Supreme tee has clean stitching inside with no hanging threads and a single seam binding the collar. Messy seams, loose threads behind the print, or two or more lines of stitching around the neckline should make you look harder.
7. The price and the seller
Some of the best fake-spotting has nothing to do with the tee:
- A sought-after graphic listed far below its usual price needs a reason.
- A new account selling lots of "brand new" Supreme in every size is a classic warning sign.
- Stock photos instead of photos of the actual tee mean you can't check anything above.
- Anyone who asks you to pay outside the app or by bank transfer loses your buyer protection.
What to ask a seller for before you buy
Before paying, ask for clear, well-lit photos of:
- The neck tag, front and back
- The wash tag inside the side seam
- A close-up of the print
- The inside of the collar
- Any marks or flaws
A genuine seller with a real tee will usually send these without fuss. If they won't, that tells you something.
When to pay for a legit check
These checks catch most fakes, but the best replicas keep improving. For anything expensive, such as a box logo or a big collab, it is worth paying a few pounds for a professional authentication service before you commit.
Skip the checking altogether

Frequently asked questions
How can I tell if a Supreme T-shirt is real?
Check the neck tag lettering and stitching, the "Made In U.S.A." full stops, the wash tag text, the print quality and the seller. No single check is proof, so use them together.
Where are Supreme T-shirts made?
Most Supreme tees are made in the USA, and the neck tag says so. A tee labelled somewhere else is worth a closer look, though it isn't automatically fake.
Are Supreme tees on Vinted real?
Many are, and many aren't. Pay through the app, check the seller's reviews and ask for the photos listed above before you buy.
Is a Supreme Mystery Tee real?
Ours are. Every Premium Mystery Tee is checked by hand before it's sent, and it's always Supreme or Palace.
